The library fund is profiled by the fields of activity of the institute. Permanent attention is paid to primary and secondary funds in the field of archeology, history, ethnography, monument care, art (film, photography, music, book culture, literature, art). Special attention is focused on the issue of life in the Přerov region, whose scope also includes the former districts (political and judicial) of Hranice, Kojetín and Lipník nad Bečvou. Another aspect is the territory of Haná, the so-called Moravian Gate, Wallachia and Záhoří. The mentioned region and its industrial and agricultural character is another determining element in the replenishment of funds. The library provides services to museum staff and is also open to the public. Books can be borrowed for study only in person at the library.
