Blahoslav, Komenský and Přerov
The most important personalities of the fraternal unity connected with Přerov are reminded by the exposition on the 1st floor of the southern wing of the chateau. The life and work of Jan Blahoslav, a native of Přerov, bishop and translator of the New Testament, is presented. A wooden model of the Blahoslav monument, created for Přerov by the sculptor František Bílek, is also on display.
The rooms are dominated by a plaster model of a sculpture by J. A. Komenský by Jan Štursa. The exhibition also includes a painting by the Přerov painter František Sklenář Meeting Comenius with Žerotín. Objects from the 16th and 17th centuries recall the time in which Comenius lived. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to Comenius 'map of Moravia, another part to Comenius' tradition. There is also a presentation of important personalities of Přerov, František Slaměník and Josef Krumpholc, custodians of the Comenius Museum. Interactive elements provide the opportunity to get new information in a fun way.
